Today brings incredible news! Congratulations to L'Enclume for making the top ranking in La Liste 2024, sharing the number one spot worldwide with six other restaurants in La Liste’s Top 1000 Restaurants. It also marks the first time a UK chef has ever achieved this accolade in the eight years since La Liste launched.

For me, it's a huge privilege to be listed alongside so many of the brilliant restaurants that we've always looked up to, many of whom we've had the honour of connecting, visiting, and collaborating with over the years. I salute you all.

This achievement is recognition of two decades' worth of dedication, perseverance and hard work, and a rather bold choice I made with my wife in 2002 when we decided to invest everything into opening a restaurant in the small but wonderful village of Cartmel in The Lakes. To this day, we remain an independently owned group of restaurants fuelled by talent, hard work, and creativity.

And at the heart of it all is my remarkable team at L'Enclume. They are some of the most dedicated and passionate individuals in the industry. Their drive and commitment inspire our continuous pursuit of excellence and innovation, even after 20 years. So here's to many more years of pushing boundaries, but today, we'll celebrate!
